Featured Tip

We often come across an item while we are cleaning or organizing that we no longer need or use.  Sometimes it’s a pair of shoes that do not fit your child anymore or a purse we will not use again.  It is a good idea to keep a box in the garage labeled “To Give Away”.  Having this box will also prepare you for any large organizing projects you are getting ready to do.  As you come across something that you are ready to be rid of just take it directly to this box.  Once a month go through the box and pass along those items to others.  A great resource for this is Freecycle.org.  You have to join your local group from there, and then you will be able to post your unwanted items for somebody to come and pick them up.  This will also help to reduce the amount of waste that makes it to our landfills.  “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.  Empty egg cartons, empty glass jars, shoe boxes, clothes, shoes, linens, etc can always be used by someone else.  Happy Organizing!
